The woodgrain paper is from the Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit. The Balloon is the die cut from the coordinating Birthday Balloons stamp set by Simon. I also used some wood embellishments from the card kit as well.
Other supplies: My Mind's Eye "Charmed" Glittery Enamel Dots, Bermuda Bay Stampin' Up! Cardstock, wood grained Designer Paper from Simples Stories "DIY", versa fine black onyx ink, rhinestones from SSS and tooth floss for the balloon string! My ribbon and twine is in storage :( hehe

Hi Ashley, I spotted your comment over at Cindy's blog, and thought I'd come by to say 'hello'. Delighted to discover you're Canadian as well; I live in small town Alberta, and am a new-comer (almost 2 years and still very much an amateur) to card-making. Fully addicted, however, and trying to figure out 'my' style. I already know that water-colouring isn't my thing *grin*. Your card here is lovely; the turquoise background is brought into play with the little coordinated embellishments; your woodgrain and rays - yellow complements the turquoise beautifully - provide an eye-catching canvas for your focal heart/sentiment. I'm not an 'artist' by any stretch, but I sure consider this one balanced, striking card! Yu certianly have incredible talent and an eye for design!

Me again - I made a few spelling errors just at the point of pressing send (my keyboard is making me bonkers!)! Serious apologies - I'm actually far more articulate than that shows! Yeesh...

Good luck with the card making. It is definitely a process in learning what works and what doesn't. Im not a huge fan of water colouring either :P
