My New Filofax

YAYYYYYY My new Filofax arrived!  So... I use to use an A5 but it was too big to carry with my iPad and other necessities I have to carry around. So I got the Saffiano Personal Sized Filofax in the Purple colour. The one I REALLLY REALLY WANTED was way too expensive (with shipping and currency exchange) but here it is: Fluro Pink Original Personal Filofax maybe I can get it as a birthday/christmas gift? Now you may be thinking, why does she have an iPad and a Filofax? Seems dated? Well, we will get to what I use my Filofax for and why my iPad just won't do. 

For now, you can have a sneak peak of what it looks like. Now this is Day 1 so its in the very early stages of how I will be using it. So far I have a section for Calendar, Tasks, Blog, Personal, Dash and a MSC tab.  I used an iPress Monogram stamp to make the front page, stamping it in Costal Cabana. 

Now I mentioned, I don't use a filofax like some may. When Filofax was big in the late 80's-90's?you kept track of all your appointments, contacts, personal information and reminders in your Filofax. Today, I use it as a scrapbook/journal, inspiration, organization of tasks and goals, and to store loose papers I need to deal with in my purse (like a letter to mail or receipt to file). 

I stamp, washi tape, colour, doodle, and paste memorabilia (similar to a SmashBook but diarized). I also journal in it. I do take old pages out and store them in a safe spot at home because it can get bulky and private. Everyday I write a little blurb about the day, tape relevant items (like ticket stubs or small photos).  The personal size filofax is MUCH smaller than the A5. I couldn't believe it! The pages on the inside are even smaller. So I may have to add sticky notes and layers to tell the story of that week ;)

Currently I have a few sections planned out.

• Calendar: Where I do all of the above "Smashbook" type stuff as well as write in tasks.
• Tasks: List of home/auto/family type projects and tasks by time frame (Major clean up/organization, Gift Ideas, Event planning, Upcoming expenses that may arise (like my windshield needs to be replaced)
• Blog: This is where I write information for me to write in my blogs, ideas of cards or projects to do for the blog, pinterest pin's I want to showcase on the blog, schedule of posting etc.
• Personal: My personal section could and will include things like quotes, wish lists, personal tasks/goals. 
• Dash/BF: My doggy and Boyfriend gets a tab. All things relating to them go there!
• Msc: I would like to put an envelope here to catch anything else. Future tickets to events, receipts, items to paste into the calendar and anything else I can think of!

Stay tuned for my pre-stamped dates (days where there are holidays or milestones or "First Day of Summer" etc.) I like to remove the pages, stamp and decorate and then place them back in. My next post about my FiloFax will be showcasing some!
